Large Employers That Hire From Abroad

Well-known employers here that publish their own job listings and hire foreign staff. These are not Emigratly contracts, and we have no agreement with them. Apply only on the employer's own careers page, and never pay anyone for a job at a named company: recruiters have used big brand names to advertise jobs the company never offered.

Each careers page and statement was read on 2026-10-08. Listing here is not an endorsement or a job offer. Check any recruiter against /verify before paying or sending documents.

Geography

Kuwait sits at the head of the Persian Gulf, bordering Iraq to the north and Saudi Arabia to the south. The terrain is flat desert with virtually no natural fresh water or arable land.

Cities

Kuwait City, the capital, dominates the country's population and economy; there is little urban development of comparable scale elsewhere in the country.

Economy and Key Industries

Kuwait holds some of the world's largest proven oil reserves, and the economy remains closely tied to energy.

Key industries

  • Oil and gas: the core of the economy, managed through the state-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation
  • Construction: a growing sector as Kuwait invests in infrastructure and diversification (Kuwait Vision 2035)
  • Financial services: Kuwait has one of the Gulf's oldest stock exchanges

Currency

The Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) is consistently the highest-valued currency unit in the world. There is no personal income tax.

Foreign Worker Population

Roughly seven in ten residents of Kuwait are non-Kuwaiti — one of the highest expatriate ratios in the Gulf — with substantial South Asian and Arab communities long established across the country.

Work visa basics

Employment is employer-sponsored. Kuwait has periodically discussed expatriate quota policies by nationality; your TAPS specialist will confirm current requirements for your specific contract before you accept an offer.

Lifestyle for Foreign Workers

Climate

Summers are extremely hot — 45C+ is common between June and September — with mild, short winters.

Culture and community

Public conduct norms are more conservative than in the UAE or Bahrain: alcohol is prohibited nationwide. The weekend is Friday–Saturday.

Safety

Kuwait is generally very safe, with low street crime and a stable security environment.

Community

Large, established South Asian communities mean familiar food, places of worship, and remittance services are easy to find in Kuwait City and its suburbs.

Sectors EMIGRATLY Places Into

Construction, facility management, security, and warehousing/logistics are EMIGRATLY's most active sectors in Kuwait.
