Cookie Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
What we store in your browser, split into what the site needs to function and what's optional. You choose the optional part when you first visit, and can change it anytime.
1. Essential Cookies
Always on — the site does not function without them. These include your session
cookie (keeps you logged in to your dashboard), a CSRF token (protects forms from
cross-site attacks), a record of your cookie consent choice itself, and the language you
chose on your first visit, and the country you pick yourself for showing the fee in your
currency (emigratly_country). On a first visit you are asked for your language first, so
that the cookie question is in a language you can read.
2. Analytics Cookies (Optional)
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and where candidates drop off during registration — aggregate usage patterns, never sold or shared for advertising. Nothing is requested from Google, and no analytics cookie is set, until you choose "Accept All." Until then, and if you choose "Essential Only," all Google storage is denied.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and
_ga_<container ID>, which tell visits apart and count page views.
Google's documentation gives their default lifetime as two years. We turn off Google
signals and ad personalisation, so these cookies are used for measurement only.
Analytics does not run on pages that show your own data (your dashboard, profile,
messages, payments and documents), on employer and staff areas, or on single-use links
such as password resets; the campaign tags in a link (utm_ parameters) are
the only part of a page address that is sent. If you later choose "Essential Only," we
stop sending data and remove these cookies from your browser.
3. Live Chat Cookies (Optional)
Where enabled, our live chat widget (provided by Tawk.to) sets its own cookies so it can recognize you if you return to a conversation with our team. Like analytics, this only loads after you choose "Accept All," and any details you share in chat are used solely to help you — never for marketing.
4. Campaign Source Cookie (Optional)
With your consent ("Accept All"), we set one first-party cookie, emigratly_first_touch, the
first time you visit. It remembers, for 30 days, which campaign tag (utm_ parameters) or website
sent you here and which public page you saw first, so that if you later take the eligibility check or register
we can count which of our campaigns work. It holds no name, email or other personal detail, is not shared with
anyone, and is not set on pages that show your own data. If you choose "Essential Only" it is removed and
nothing is recorded.
5. What We Don't Do
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share browsing data with third parties for marketing.
6. Managing Your Choice
Use the banner on your first visit, or the link in the footer at any time, to switch between "Essential Only" and "Accept All." Your choice is stored in your browser and respected on every visit.
7. Browser Controls
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser's own settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from staying logged in to your dashboard.
