Large Employers That Hire From Abroad
Well-known employers here that publish their own job listings and hire foreign staff. These are not Emigratly contracts, and we have no agreement with them. Apply only on the employer's own careers page, and never pay anyone for a job at a named company: recruiters have used big brand names to advertise jobs the company never offered.

Geography
The UAE occupies the eastern edge of the Arabian Peninsula, a federation of seven emirates along the Persian Gulf and, for Fujairah, the Gulf of Oman as well. It shares land borders with Saudi Arabia to the south and Oman to the east and southeast.
Terrain
Most of the country is low-lying desert, broken by the Hajar Mountains along the eastern border with Oman — the only significant relief in an otherwise flat landscape. The coastline includes natural harbors, man-made islands (Palm Jumeirah, the World Islands), and extensive salt-flat terrain inland.
Major cities
Abu Dhabi (federal capital), Dubai (commercial capital), Sharjah, and Al Ain (an inland oasis city) are the largest — see each emirate page above for local detail.
Economy and Key Industries
Oil discovered in the 1950s–60s built the modern UAE, but the country has diversified further and faster than any of its Gulf neighbours.
Key industries
- Trade and logistics: Jebel Ali Port is one of the world's busiest container ports; Dubai International Airport is a major global aviation hub
- Tourism and hospitality: tens of millions of visitors pass through Dubai in a typical year
- Construction and real estate: continuous major development across all seven emirates
- Finance: the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) are established regional financial hubs
- Energy: Abu Dhabi holds the large majority of the UAE's oil reserves and remains the country's energy centre
Currency and taxation
The UAE Dirham (AED) is pegged to the US Dollar at a fixed rate, giving exchange-rate stability. There is no personal income tax on salary anywhere in the UAE.
Foreign Worker Population
Foreign nationals make up roughly 88% of the UAE's population — one of the highest ratios of any country in the world — a scale of labor migration that shapes daily life more than almost anywhere else on earth.
Who's already here
- India: the largest single expatriate community, several million strong
- Pakistan and Bangladesh: large, long-established communities, particularly in construction and services
- Philippines: a major presence in hospitality, retail, and healthcare support
- Nepal and Sri Lanka: significant and growing communities across construction and facility management
Work visa basics
Employment is sponsored by the employer, who arranges the residence visa and Emirates ID as part of onboarding. The UAE operates a Wage Protection System (WPS) requiring employers to pay salaries through approved banking channels on time — a real, enforceable protection against unpaid wages, and something your TAPS specialist checks on every UAE contract.
Lifestyle for Foreign Workers
Climate
Summers (June to September) are hot and humid, frequently exceeding 40C along the coast; inland and desert areas are drier but can be hotter at midday. Winters (November to March) are genuinely pleasant — 20–28C, low humidity, blue skies — and the most popular season for outdoor life.
Cost of living and housing
Costs vary sharply by emirate: Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the most expensive, Sharjah, Ajman, and the northern emirates noticeably cheaper. Most EMIGRATLY contracts in construction, hospitality, and facility management include employer-provided shared accommodation, which changes the real cost of living considerably versus renting independently.
Safety
The UAE is consistently ranked among the safest countries in the world for low street crime, with strict enforcement and extensive public infrastructure in every city.
Culture and community
Islam is the official religion and shapes public life — prayer times, adjusted Ramadan working hours, modest dress expectations in public — but the UAE is religiously diverse in practice, with churches, temples, and gurdwaras operating openly, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Every major source-country cuisine is easy to find, and remittance services are widely available in every city.
Weekends and time off
The UAE weekend is Friday–Saturday. Major public holidays include Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, and UAE National Day (2 December).
Getting home
Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports offer frequent, relatively affordable direct flights to every EMIGRATLY source country, making trips home for major holidays realistic for most candidates.
Sectors EMIGRATLY Places Into
Construction
The UAE's continuous infrastructure and real-estate development makes construction EMIGRATLY's single largest UAE sector — site labor, steel fixers, masons, and site supervisors.
Hospitality
Dubai's hotel, restaurant, and tourism sector is a major and growing source of housekeeping, food and beverage, and front-of-house roles.
Facility management
Building operations, cleaning, and maintenance roles are in steady demand across every emirate.
Logistics and warehousing
Jebel Ali and the wider UAE logistics network drive consistent demand for warehouse staff, forklift operators, and dispatch roles.
Healthcare support
A smaller but growing category as the UAE expands its healthcare infrastructure — care assistants and hospital support staff.
