Large Employers That Hire From Abroad
Well-known employers here that publish their own job listings and hire foreign staff. These are not Emigratly contracts, and we have no agreement with them. Apply only on the employer's own careers page, and never pay anyone for a job at a named company: recruiters have used big brand names to advertise jobs the company never offered.

Geography
Bahrain is a small archipelago of more than 30 islands in the Persian Gulf, connected to Saudi Arabia by the 25km King Fahd Causeway. The main island, where almost the entire population lives, is flat and arid with no permanent rivers.
Terrain and cities
The capital, Manama, sits on the northern tip of the main island; Muharraq, connected by causeway and home to the international airport, is the second-largest city. There is no significant elevation anywhere in the country.
Economy and Key Industries
Historically an oil economy — Bahrain was the first Gulf state to discover oil, in 1932 — the country has diversified further and faster than most neighbours.
Key industries
- Banking and finance: Bahrain is one of the Gulf's oldest and most established financial centres, particularly for Islamic banking
- Aluminium: Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) is one of the world's largest single-site aluminium smelters
- Construction and real estate: steady development including major reclamation projects
- Tourism: a popular weekend destination for visitors from Saudi Arabia via the causeway
Currency
The Bahraini Dinar (BHD) is pegged to the US Dollar and is one of the highest-valued currency units in the world. There is no personal income tax.
Foreign Worker Population
The majority of Bahrain's workforce is foreign-born, with large, long-established communities from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Nepal — many EMIGRATLY candidates will find familiar language, food, and community support already firmly in place.
Work visa basics
Employment is employer-sponsored, similar to the wider GCC pattern. Bahrain has its own Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) overseeing work permits and, notably, allows some flexibility for workers to change employers under specific conditions — worth discussing with your TAPS specialist if it applies to your contract.
Lifestyle for Foreign Workers
Climate
Summers are hot (frequently 40C+) with high humidity typical of the Gulf coast; winters are mild and pleasant, roughly November through March.
Cost of living
Bahrain is generally considered one of the more affordable GCC destinations, with lower housing costs than Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or Doha.
Culture and community
Bahrain has a reputation as one of the more socially relaxed Gulf states. The weekend is Friday–Saturday. The country is compact — under an hour to cross by car — making it easy to navigate without extensive local knowledge.
Safety
Bahrain is generally very safe, with low street crime.
Sectors EMIGRATLY Places Into
Construction, hospitality, facility management, and specialized trades are EMIGRATLY's most active sectors in Bahrain, with steady demand tied to ongoing real-estate and tourism development.
