Ask a specialist — Contracts and offers

What can I do if my wages are late or wrong?

Keep your own records from the start: your contract, payslips, the days and hours you work, and bank statements. Compare what you were paid with the contract, ask politely in writing what the difference is, and tell your specialist or recruiter in writing. Most destination countries have a labour authority that receives wage complaints, and your embassy may have a labour or welfare officer.

Do not stop work or leave your job without advice, do not sign a paper saying you were paid in full if you were not, and do not hand over your passport. This is general information, not legal advice.
